15 Side Hustle Ideas To Make You Extra Money In 2019

One of the best ways to earn some extra cash is a side hustle.

Side hustles can help improve your finances since they do not require large, upfront investments or specialized skills to start.

For example, I was able to pay off my credit card debt by buying and flipping items on eBay for a profit.

In today’s post, I have compiled a list of 15 side hustle ideas which you can help you make some extra money.

Side Hustle Ideas to Make Extra Money From Home

1. Amazon Flex

If you don’t mind driving, you can consider becoming a delivery partner with Amazon Flex.

With Amazon Flex, you get to work around your own schedule. You can make up to $18 to $25 delivering packages for Amazon.

All you need is your own transportation and a smartphone to install the Amazon flex app.

Pros

  • You get to choose when you work.
  • Flexible hours

Cons

  • Wear and tear on your car
  • Delivering to apartments with gates and gated communities can be challenging.
  • High chance of being chased by dogs
  • Weather conditions
  • Support is only available through email

2. Charging Scooters

recharging-scooters

The next gig involves picking up scooters and recharging them.

If you live in the right place, this is something anyone can do. The two most popular scooter brands are Bird and Lime.

For Bird, they can pay you between $3 to $30 per scooter. The pay rate will be based on when the scooter was last charged and becomes available again.

With Lime, they will pay you $5 per scooter. It may seem like a small amount, but over time the money will add up.

If you live in a city with many scooters available, one way to recharge them is to collect them on your way home from work, charge them over night and drop them off on the way to work.

You will need a smartphone to install the app to find available scooters to pick up and recharge. If you have a large vehicle, you can pick up as many scooters as you like.

Pros

  • Flexible with your work schedule.
  • Chargers are similar to the ones we use for laptops. They are interchangeable with different companies.

How much you can earn really depends on your skills and experience. In the beginning, you might have to charge people a bit less to get your foot through the door.

Domain flipping does take time to see returns and you will be required to spend some money to purchase these domains.

Depends on how much someone is willing to pay for the domain name. Some things you need to consider when purchasing a domain is things like the length of the domain name, age and authority and domain extension. All you need is an internet connection and some key skills when searching for domains to flip.

  • You are Likely to Make Many Mistakes: This is very common with newbies in the flipping business. How to Invest Your First $1000 in 2019: 7 Ways to Make Passive Income

investing-money

In today’s post, I will share with you 7 ways you can invest your first $1000 to make passive income in the future.

7 Ways You can Make Passive Income at Home

1. Financial Literacy

“The most important investment you can make is in yourself.” – Warren Buffet

First on the is financial literacy. You might be thinking, “why do I need to care about financial literacy?”.

You would be surprised with the number of people who do not understand about managing their finances and end up swimming in a sea of debt when they are adults.

As I started to reach my mid 20’s I was in a lot of debt which restricted my cash flow. I felt like I was stuck in the mud.

I wanted to use my hard earned money to invest in my side hustles but I couldn’t since I had to pay back my debt plus interest on top! Month after month it felt like this debt was never going to leave me.

I realised school did not teach me about saving money, distinguish between a need and a want, managing budgets, paying bills on time or planning for retirement.

Instead, they force you to learn subjects that have little value once you’re in the real adult world.

Financial literacy provides you with the information you need to adjust your lifestyle and help you create a roadmap for better financial decisions.

You can read books and blogs about managing your finances. Your local library is also a great source of information. Spend a day at your local library, you will be surprised at the content you can find for free.

You can also purchase ebooks from Amazon, online video courses and attend community college courses.

Watching videos on YouTube is a quick and cost effective way of educating yourself about finance.

Becoming a financially responsible adult will free you from debt and provide you with enough money for you to enjoy when you retire.

2. Blogging

You can start a blog for less than $100. All you need is a domain, hosting and a simple WordPress theme. It’s a great online business model to make money online for beginners.

Decide what niche you’re interested in. It will help if you’re passionate about the content you will be creating.

You will have to do some keyword research and find out what your audience’s pain points are and how you can add value and help solve their problems.

Overtime as your blog ranks in the search engines and traffic starts to come in, you can monetize your blog to make more money. If you don’t like to write your own content, I recommend outsourcing this task to freelancers on Upwork or iWriter.

Creating your own blog is super easy. You can check out my tutorial here.

Pros and Cons of Blogging

Advantages

  • Business Opportunity: You have the potential to monetise your blog and turn it into a full-time business.
  • Flexibility: You can work from anywhere as long as you have a laptop and an internet connection.
  • Purpose: If you have a business website or e-commerce store, adding a blog and consistently updating your blog with quality content will help search engines rank your website and attract more visitors.
  • Daily Journal: Great platform to document your journey and business.
  • Outreach: When you create informative and engaging posts, your visitors are more likely to share your content with their friends. In return, you will gain new followers and subscribers.

Disadvantages

  • Laziness: Having a flexible workplace can often lead to laziness if you’re not careful. It’s always a good idea to have a clean workspace free from clutter and remember to take regular breaks so you’re not indoors for long periods of time.
  • SEO: You will have to learn SEO and it does take time to master. There’s no point of creating amazing posts if no one is going to read them. Google is constantly changing their algorithms so its important  to constantly learn new techniques to optimize your blog.
  • It’s a business: If you take your blog seriously and treat it as a business, you will be able to turn it into a full time business. It’s important to always optimize the user experience on your blog by making it easier for your audience to digest content. You want your audience to stay engaged with your content and keeps them coming back for more.
  • It takes time: Blogging is not a get rich quick scheme. To create a sustainable blog that will continuously make you money in the future will take time, patience and discipline. You will have to add value first by providing quality content which connects to your audience and then the money will follow eventually.

3. Start an e-commerce store

Another way of investing your first $1000 is starting your own e-commerce store.

But you’re probably thinking, “what do I sell and where do I find this stuff”?

If you’re a beginner you can do this two ways. The first method is to dropship products from a supplier individually or you can purchase items at wholesale.

For beginners who would like to sell stuff online, I recommend the dropshipping method.

E-commerce platforms like Shopify have made it super easy for beginners to set up their first store.

Pros and Cons of Dropshipping

Advantages

  • Low start-up costs: You only have to buy the items once you make a sale. Even if you didn’t have money to start off with, you can use a credit card to pay for the items.
  • Less risk: You don’t have to worry about keeping inventory you can’t sell.
  • No storage needed: You don’t have to worry about finding a place to store your inventory or warehouse expenses.
  • Hands-free: All the packaging and shipping is done by the supplier. You don’t have to make regular trips to your local post office.

Disadvantages

  • Low Profit Margins: With dropshipping, your profit margins will be lower compared to purchasing items at wholesale.
  • Unreliable suppliers: Your goal as a dropshipper is to drive traffic to you store and convert your visitors into paying customers. A bad supplier can take your money and not send out the goods to your customers. When you receive too many negative reviews, it can destroy your business reputation. It’s important to research trustworthy suppliers.
  • Takes time: this is not a get rich scheme.

If you would like to learn how to create your own profitable dropshipping business, you can check out my eCom Elites course review here.

4. Pay off your debt!

You can’t go too far ahead if you’re stuck in the mud. Pay off your credit card debt with the most interest rate first.

There’s no point investing your money if you have debt you need to pay off. The interest you have to pay overtime will

To be financially independent, it’s important to have a financial game plan so that you stay positive cash flow.

Pros and Cons of Paying off Your Debt Fast

Advantages

  • Save money in interest: Taking out a loan or using a credit card will involve interest payments. The longer you take to pay off your debts, the more interest you will have to pay overtime.
  • Free up cash: Having debt will prevent you from having financial flexibility. Paying off your debt off quickly will help free up some cash that can be used for a rainy day.
  • Sleep Better: Knowing you have debt from month to month can drain you physically and mentally. Paying off your debt quickly will reduce your stress and anxiety. You will also have the peace of mind, knowing you’re not burdened by debt.

Disadvantages

  • Depleting Emergency Fund: Paying off all your debt is ideal, but you need to be careful where the money is coming from. Make sure you have at least three months of living expenses saved away. When you have no money left, it can be difficult to cover medical emergencies or losing a job. Using different funds: At times, you may have to dig into your savings and other funds you may have in order to keep up with debt repayments. Paying off debt early can also decrease your investment funds and opportunities.
  • No Money Back: Lenders will not send you your money back if you change your mind. Once the debt is paid for, your money is gone.
  • Credit Rating: Paying off your debt early can potentially hurt your credit rating. Consistent repayments is the best way to build credit.

5. Buy and Resell on eBay

  • User Friendly: Flipping things on eBay is very easy. All you need is an item, take some photos of it, list it on eBay and configure the shipping details. You can also set the handling time to suit your lifestyle in case you would like to take some time off to go on vacations.
  • Flexible: You can sell almost anything on eBay besides illegal stuff like weapons and drugs. It’s a great way to test different niches to see what your customers love to buy. I have sold products from books, clothes and electronics.
  • Vast Audience: One of the best things about selling stuff on eBay is the potential to reach more customers. eBay is an established e-commerce platform with millions of shoppers looking for products to buy making it easier for you to attract new customers.
  • Gain new customers: Making a sale is one of the best feelings you can experience as an entrepreneur. It’s also a great opportunity to entice your customers to check out your eBay store for repeat purchases.
  • Second Chances: When you’re selling things on eBay, it gives the item a second chance. You will be helping the environment by recycling stuff but also making money in return. It’s a win win!

Disadvantages

  • Motivation: You are your own boss and you are responsible for everything that happens in your eBay business. Its very easy to be distracted and side tracked with our environment You will be required to find and list items on your store.  However, if you keep practicing, you will get better and faster as time progresses.
  • Time: With any side hustle, you will have to develop new skills. It will take time and patience to master these skills . You will learn how to use the eBay to list your items, how to find profitable products to sell and how to package and ship your order. Some products may sell faster than others so dont expect to make a return over night.
  • Seller Fees: It’s important to understand the eBay fees that may affect your profit margins on certain items. Make sure you do some research to see how much your item has sold for in the past before listing it on eBay. You don’t want to waste your time by listing an item and later not making much profit after eBay fees have been deducted.
  • Customer Service: With any e-commerce type of business, you will have to deal with answering your customers questions and resolving any problems they have with their order. There was one time I had sold a set of keyrings to a customer which got lost in the mail. Instead of the customer contacting me directly to resolve their issue, they left a negative review which affected my store ratings. When customers don’t see 100% positive feedback on your store, they are less likely to buy from you. I reached out to the customers explaining to them I have sent another set of keyrings and they should have contacted me first instead. Lucky enough, eBay was able to remove that negative feedback!
  • Tracking Inventory: As your store gets bigger, you will need a process or system in place to track your inventory. Let’s not forget you’re most likely going to store a lot of your items in your own home so it’s important to keep them organized and easily accessible.
  • Competition: Depending on your item and niche you’re selling in, certain products will have more competition than others. Its always a good idea to do some research before listing any items. You will have to find ways to make your listings stand out from the crowd. This can be as simple as taking better photos, improving product titles and descriptions.

6. Create an Online Course

Everyday I see a YouTube or Facebook ad promoting a new course from some expert living across the world.

Selling online courses are currently trending and is a great way of leveraging your expertise and knowledge.

Platforms like Teachable and Udemy make it super easy to create and sell courses online.

They handle most things like web hosting and payment processing so that you have more time to focus on creating awesome courses.

The Pros and Cons of selling your own course

Advantages

  • Revenue and Profit: You can serve multiple clients at the same time and make more money while keeping costs low.
  • Engaged Learning: Being able to deliver your content in different formats can offer more educational opportunities for a wider audience. Some people learn better by seeing visuals or listening to audio instead of just reading.
  • Ownership: You own and earn 100% of the profits. You can use your course as a way to reach more people and increase brand exposure. Top marketers all have their own courses and products which helps them stand out from the crowd.

Disadvantages

  • Technology Costs: Creating your own course will require the use of software and services which includes a monthly fee. You will also need time to learn how to use them.
  • Marketing Costs: Utililizing your own email list to drive traffic to your course is a great way to make your first few sales. However, if you do not have an email list to market to, you will have to utilize other marketing methods like PPC advertising, guest posting, affiliate programs etc. This can easily drive up your marketing costs if you’re conversion rates are low.
  • Difficult to Protect: One of the downsides of creating an online course is the difficulty to protect your course from being redistributed over the internet. There are many tools and tricks available that people can use to download your course and re-upload and sell them for a cheaper price.
  • Takes Time: Creating and developing a course will take time and patience. If you’re producing video and audio content, you may need professional equipment and this can cost you more money.
  • Pricing: Deciding how much you should charge for your course is not a simple task. You will have to include costs of reformatting existing material, promoting the course and profit margins need to be considered. Conducting competitor analysis is a great way to see what is currently on the market.
  • Sales Funnels: Some marketers use their online course as part of their sales funnel. This leaves a bad reputation for online courses as more people are skeptical of marketers who flash their expensive cars and lavish lifestyle in their ads.

7. Affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketing is one of my favorite side hustles which I highly recommend for beginners looking to generate another income stream online.

All you have to do is, recommend products and you will make a commission every time someone buys using your affiliate link.

There are many marketplaces you can sign up to find products to promote. These include Clickbank, Amazon, MarketHealth and many more.

If you would like to learn more about affiliate marketing, you can check out my Savage Affiliates review here

The Pros and Cons of Affiliate Marketing

Advantages

  • Low Cost: To start your own affiliate marketing side hustle, all you need is a domain name, hosting and a website. It’s very easy to setup your very first WordPress website which I have shown here.
  • No inventory: You don’t have to worry about storing inventory or dealing with packaging and shipping. Your goal as an affiliate marketer is to drive traffic, collect leads and recommend products to help your audience solve their pain points.
  • Customer service: If you’re an introvert like me, you don’t have to worry about dealing with any customers when you’re an affiliate marketer. The vendor will be responsible for dealing with customer enquiries on the backend.
  • Adding Value: Becoming an affiliate marketer is a great way for you to add value back to the world. You can create content that documents your own experiences which can be shared to millions of people.
  • Scaling: You can leverage multiple platforms such as social media, forums, organic and paid traffic sources to promote your affiliate programs. You can also collect emails to build your email list which you can later market to through email marketing to make more commissions in the back end. Your email list is your money printing machine so its important to collect emails as soon as possible!
  • Cost effective: Your startup costs are almost non existent in the beginning of your affiliate marketing journey. All you need is  electricity, an internet connection and a computer. You also have the flexibility to work from home or remotely. Compared to other business models, you don’t have to worry about hiring employees or paying for a workspace at the start.
  • Secondary Income Stream: As an affiliate marketer, you don’t have to quit your day job as you grow your side projects.   This ensures you have a steady   which you can use to invest in your affiliate marketing projects.
  • Independence: Another reason why I love affiliate marketing is the independence and freedom to do what you want and when you want. I can work on my blogs wearing my pyjamas while playing classical music in the background without anyone interrupting. Compared to a regular job with rules and regulations, you have to put up with other people’s bad habits and a loud workspace.
  • Passive income: With affiliate marketing, you can make money while you sleep. One of the best feelings you can experience is checking your affiliate programs to see that you were able to generate money without lifting a finger. Passive income is possible if you put in the hard work at the start and reap the rewards later in the future.

Disadvantages

  • Slow progress: This is where most people give up in their affiliate marketing journey and often say making money online is a scam. Affiliate marketing will take some time at the start before you see progress as there is a learning curve and many skills you have to learn and master. I must admit, I was also sceptical about affiliate marketing when I first started out. However, when I made my first commission, I knew affiliate marketing was going to be my freedom from the conventional 9-5 lifestyle. It may take you months and even years before you will see any returns. The key is to stay persistent and develop the right habits that’s going to keep you focused for the next couple of years.
  • Additional Costs: With any trade, you will need tools to help you run your business smoothly. This includes email marketing software and outsourcing tasks that you can offload to someone else while you focus on the important stuff that takes your business to the next level.
  • Relying on the vendor: You don’t have control over the affiliate program. You will have to adhere to the vendor/merchants rules and any changes they implement. For example, changes with commission rates or removing certain products.
  • Competition:  Depending on your niche and industry, there can be a lot of competition created by other affiliate marketers. However, don’t let competition scare you. As an affiliate marketer, your hard work and persistence will help you get a piece of the pie. All you have to do is take action.

Final Thoughts

When you hear people talk about investing money, its either in stocks, real estate or crypto currency.

However, I find investing your first $1000 into a side hustle is more profitable and sustainable in the long run.

The key is to choose one side hustle, focus and master it before you hop onto the next.

Its very easy to be distracted and fall for the shiny object syndrome. Stick to one idea, focus and stay persistent. Your results is an indicator of how much effort you put in.

What side hustles are you currently focused on? Let me know in the comments below, I would love to hear from you!

Affiliate Marketing Champ Review: ODi Productions – Worth it or Overhyped?

If you’re thinking about buying ODi Productions Affiliate Marketing Champ you might want to read my review first…

Hi, Darren here.

Today I am going to share with you my honest thoughts on ODI Productions affiliate marketing course. Is it really worth $2000?

To summarise, there are 10 modules in total. Each module has one video averaging about 20 minutes each.

It’s a short course with over $10,000 worth of bonuses self-rated by Odi.

Who is the Creator of Affiliate Marketing Champ?

The creator of the Affiliate Marketing Champ course is Odi.

I found Odi on Youtube when I was learning more about affiliate marketing as another stream of income.

You will see Odi wearing expensive clothing and showing off his cars in his YouTube videos and his websites.

I guess its part of a marketing strategy similar to other YouTube gurus. Now his ads are spamming my Facebook feed.

However, Odi does provide great content and consistently uploads new videos on his Youtube channel.

I’m positive he models his business similar to other internet marketers out there like Tai Lopez.

Affiliate Marketing Champ Review – What will you learn?

There are 10 modules in this course. I will summarise each module, and give you an idea of what to expect.

Module 1 – My Story: From UCLA Dropout to Dream Life in Just 2 Years

So the course starts off with Odi introducing himself and talks a bit about his past. He mentions dropping out of college and pursuing his goal of financial freedom.

This goes on for 20 minutes.  I’m going to let you know now, you won’t learn anything from this module so it’s best to skip it.

1 Video – 25:55 Minutes

Module 2 – What is Affiliate Marketing and Why It’s The Best Online Business Today

In this module, Odi explains what affiliate marketing is and how it works.

I’m pretty sure you know what affiliate marketing is before purchasing any affiliate marketing course.

To summarise, affiliate marketing is promoting a company’s products or services and receiving a commission.

Commissions are based either on a fixed amount (e.g $40 per sale) or a % of a sale (e.g 20% of purchase).

Odi also explains the benefits of affiliate marketing.

These include:

  • Little to no upfront costs to get you started
  • Don’t have to risk thousands of dollars on inventory that may not sell
  • Don’t have to deal with customer refunds, complains and bad reviews
  • Can be 100% Passive Income
  • Certain tasks can be automated such as email marketing tools
  • More time freedom

1 Video – 6:32 Minutes

Module 3 – The Best Examples of Affiliate Marketing in the Real World

In this module, Odi shows you different methods of making money online.

These methods include:

Youtube – Placing Amazon Associates links in the description, sponsorship with branded links from companies or personalized coupon codes.

Instagram/Facebook – Sponsorship via coupon codes are commonly used on Instagram. Facebook pages niche related are great places to post affiliate links if done correctly.

Authority/Review Websites – Very effective method because people trust authority websites and brands more easily. Personal Blogs

Overall, the presentation could use some images to make the video more engaging.

1 Video – 21:25 Minutes

Module 4 – Step by Step Plan on How to Create a Successful Affiliate Marketing Business

Odi covers how to:

Pick a niche – Picking a niche that you’re either knowledgeable, passionate about or is a pain point (you have the solution for a common problem e.g weightloss, acne etc).

Create a brand – Think long term about your business. People trust brands and authority figures. He recommends getting a logo made from Fiverr.

Starting a Youtube Channel – Youtube is the #2 search engine in the world. Your goal is to rank your videos on the first page for organic traffic. Selling through video converts much better than other media platforms.

Creating a simple website – Very brief explanation about using WordPress. This should be a module itself which would be helpful for first-timers.

Applying for affiliate networks – Odi recommends starting with Amazon Associates first because it is the easiest to get into and has the largest product selection.

However, commissions are lower but make up for it in volume since people can checkout with more than one item.

He also talks briefly about other affiliate networks such as MaxBounty, Commission Junction, Clickbank, and ShareaSale.

Finding and researching products to promote – Research what products people are most likely to buy using tools such as Google Keyword Planner. Pick keywords with buyer intent to help you find popular products to promote.

Creating content to promote products – Odi talks about the different methods of promoting products. This can include: Review video on YouTube, Comparison video on YouTube, Review/comparison article, a tutorial video showing how to use the product, Instagram and Facebook posts and videos.

Odi also talks about using paid ads to boost your videos on YouTube and collecting your customer emails using opt-in forms. This might be a bit confusing for people who have just started with affiliate marketing. Showing examples might help with any confusion.

1 Video – 42:46 Minutes

Module 5 – The Most Profitable Niches in Affiliate Marketing Revealed

Odi reveals the best niches to start with affiliate marketing especially if you’re a beginner.

Amazon Associates – Smartphones, Laptops and computers, Tv’s and home theatre and audio equipment such as headphones and bluetooth speakers. All these products can be found using Amazon Associates.

Blogging and Web Services – Use blogs to recommend high-commission digital web services such as hosting and email marketing.

Online Courses – Commissions can be high for big ticket online courses.

Health Supplements/Fitness – Health is an evergreen market and will continue to be profitable. You can grow a following and promote a variety of products such as protein powders, weight loss pills, exercise equipment etc.

Food Blogs and Cooking – You can promote a ton of different products such as blenders, juicers, pressure cookers etc.

Credit Cards/Financial Services – Wealth is another evergreen market. You can refer people to credit cards and other financial services.

Again, you can Google or Youtube to find this information at no cost.

1 Video: 29.38 Mintues

Module 6 – How to Rank on the First Page of Youtube & Google “Top Secret”

Odi provides:

SEO tips given but definitely not a complete guide Takes a lot more to rank than what was said in a 23-minute long video

SEO in itself is a course that should be taught on its own.

Module 7 – This Paid Traffic Source will Turbocharge Your Results

1 Video: 23:16 Minutes

Module 8 – How to Create an Affiliate Marketing Website from Scratch in 1 Hour

Odi will show you how to purchase your own domain, hosting and how to setup your website. Very straight forward and easy to follow along.

Odi also talks about OptimizePress which is a landing page plugin for your website. Maybe this should be a separate video.

Module 9 – How to Create a Facebook Ad for Affiliate Marketing

Odi provides an overview of setting up Facebook Ads and explains why he prefers YouTube ads instead.

You can find many tutorials on Facebook ads on Youtube for free.

1 Video: 17:44 Minutes

Module 10 – My Top 5 Mistakes with Affiliate Marketing That I wish I Knew Before

In this module Odi talks about:

Avoiding shiny object syndrome – There are many ways to skin a cat, just like there are many ways to make money online. Choose one that fits your desired lifestyle. You would rather focus on one thing 100% than to divide your focus on multiple things.

Expecting people to buy cold – These days, the average times that a customer encounters your brand before buying is around 7 times. You need to give value first and sell after.

Not investing in paid traffic – Investing into paid traffic helps scale the business quickly. Waiting for organic traffic can take a long time especially if there his high competition.

Analysis Paralysis – Right now you know enough to get started. Research on a problem-by-problem basis, one step at a time. You will get overwhelmed trying to plan the entire business in your head. Break it up into smaller parts.

1 Video: 16:45 Minutes

Refund Policy

“We would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact us in the first 14 days and we will give you a FULL refund, minus taxes and fees on the transaction (10% of total purchase price). You must have viewed less than 30% of the modules in order to qualify for a refund (doesn’t matter if you watched the video). Once you view over 30% of the modules, no refund can be given under ANY circumstances. If you are caught requesting a refund after the 14-day period after purchase OR after viewing over 30% of the modules, you will be REMOVED from the Facebook group and course without a refund at my discretion.”

Before buying any course on the internet, it is always a good idea to check out the seller’s refund policy. If you watch more than 3 modules, you won’t be able to request a refund from Odi.

Pros

  • Easy to understand.
  • You can access Affiliate Marketing Champ on teachable. The user interface is very easy to use.
  • As long as you have a wi-fi connection, you will have access to the course almost anywhere.

Cons

  • Price is a little high for the value provided. The whole course is about 7 hours long.
  • Content is very watered down. For example, the module about SEO is very short and will leave you scratching your head. There is a lot to learn about SEO and having just one video won't be enough for someone who is just starting out.
  • His videos could use more images to break up the black and white text.

My Final Verdict

Overall, ODI Productions Affiliate Marketing Champ course is definitely not worth its price. You can find most of the information available on Youtube for free.

This course feels more like a free e-book which you can download for “Free” in exchange for your email. It’s a lot of theory, at a basic level.

Some videos were quite useful but the majority of the videos are vague and offer no value.

For example, Odi could have gone more in-depth with SEO such as article layout and user experience, backlinks, web 2.0's and the importance of social networks.

Compared to other courses in the market, Affiliate Marketing Champ falls short.

If you’re serious about making money with affiliate marketing, I highly recommend checking out Franklin Hatchett’s Savage Affiliates course.

It is currently priced at $197, which is a fraction of what Affiliate Marketing Champ costs. You can check out my review of Savage Affiliates here.

Savage Affiliates Review: Getting Started with Passive Income with Franklin Hatchett

savage-affiliates-review

If you’re thinking about buying Frank Hatchett’s Savage Affiliates program you might want to read my review first…

Hi, it’s Darren here!

You’re probably a member of any number of Facebook groups.

I know I am. I’m in a group for a local garage sale in our area where people put up stuff for sale.

I’m in a musical group to keep up on the local bands performing throughout the area.

And I am also a member of Online Samurais.

No, it’s not some kind of online gaming group. Rather, it is the handiwork of Frank Hatchett, online marketing guru and author of Savage Affiliates.

This is my Savage Affiliates Review.

Lately I have been looking at starting my side hustle. For me, it is all about the peer pressure.

Everybody else had one, so I began to feel the squeeze. I really wanted in on this.

Problem is, my life goes in a hundred different directions every day. I needed a hustle that wouldn’t make me go crazy but still get me a few extra bucks.

Now, I had been a part of this Facebook group, Online Samurais, for a good while. I was a little afraid to get started, because I didn’t know how. I would make up all kinds of excuses.

Truth is, I think I was afraid to take a risk.

There was no need for me to be afraid, though. And so, I’d like to tell you about this great affiliate marketing course for beginners I took, that way you can get started with a good foundation of knowledge.

You don’t have to feel like a baby deer walking on a patch of ice! Rather, you can feel comfortable treading in these new and unfamiliar waters.

After all, there’s good money to be made if you just work hard enough.

Before we go on, the affiliate marketing definition is where you help product creators sell their stuff by marketing them for those creators.

You get a cut of each sale or lead you provide the seller. It sounds easy, but you need a guru…moving on.

This is where Frank Hatchett come into play. He’s a really cool guy-he’s made a six-figure income working right out of his home doing affiliate marketing.

He’s also open to sharing the wealth-that is, he will teach you the basics so you can get started making your own money.

He gives his advice away for free on YouTube, which I think is really great.

So, after watching those videos, I decided to take things a step further and go for that course I mentioned a little earlier.

This course is not some dinky PowerPoint presentation some student working to boost his resume put together.

This is the real deal and loaded with heaps of good information about how to become an affiliate marketer and how you can start affiliate market training.

What Was Your Experience?

At this point, I’ve definitely given you a brief overlook of the course and how it shows how to become an affiliate marketer.

You are probably wondering about my particular experience with the program and how it worked out for me.

The course says you can learn how to make about $10K a month doing this affiliate marketing stuff using free and paid traffic techniques and ideas.

I will be honest with you-if you work hard enough, this could very well happen to you, but it is not likely. Not that I don’t hope the best for you- I just don’t want to set a false expectation.

I started by paying the price of $197. You might say, “What the heck. That’s way too much!” Yes, I agree that’s a load of cash.

But remember, this guy is the real deal. He already gives advice away on YouTube for free. This course is a genuine and real way of getting to know the greatest methods of affiliate marketing.

Your investment is not going to some shady teacher who will take your money and run. This is cheap compared to some of the other, lesser guys.

I chose affiliate marketing because it’s a way to earn passive income. You set everything up, make sure it’s working and then just set it and forget it. Then you watch the money come rolling in!

I am writing this a year after I actually did the course and I am telling you now that I am still getting commissions from recommendations I made on my blog nearly a year ago.

And it was for something so simple-just a special scrubby pad I enjoy using in my kitchen.

I was pleasantly overwhelmed to find that there were over a hundred videos included in the course.

Yes, it took a while to get through them all. But I watched them each and every day on lunch breaks and waiting at the doctor’s office, etc.

I was able to get through them with ease, and I was never not busy. I was always learning.

They worked especially well on my iPad, playing in 1080P. They’re all on Vimeo, of all places, so it’s easy to control and watch. Less traffic than YouTube means a bit faster load time, too!

Here are the modules I followed in the order they appear. I’ll tell you a little about each one.

Update: I finally made my first ClickBank sale by following what Franklin teaches in his course.

I did not login into my ClickBank account for a couple of weeks and just focused on creating content. I was too fixated on making money instead of helping others with my blog.

After weeks of ignoring it, I logged back in to check and noticed I made another sale, which shows affiliate marketing does work! I just have to be patient, focus on creating value for my audience and then the money will follow.

My second blog started making a few sales here and there. I made a commission of $100 in one day, which is my highest commission to date.

It’s a great feeling knowing the hard work you put in will be worth it in the end.

Savage Affiliates Review

1. Affiliate Introduction

This one is the welcome wagon of the course. You meet Franklin, who tells you what to expect. This part mostly focuses on “How We Do [insert course module here].”

E.G. “How We Do SEO.” There is another important video to watch that has how to do disclaimers, which is good for those of you in the USA. They also talk about just how important SEO is.

Topics covered in this module:

  • How Affiliate Marketing Works
  • The Results
  • How We Use Free Traffic
  • How We Use Paid Traffic
  • Quick Traffic SEO Video

2. Niches/Products

Next you will learn about what niches to use and how to find affiliate offers. Without a good offer, you’re out of luck, so this is one of the most valuable sections I encountered.

You will learn how to find products you can promote and then it goes into specific places with offers and products you can promote. I found videos dedicated to Clickbank, Amazon, Jvzoo, Health Market.

These are all pretty great. Clickbank is one to be aware of-people can and do request refunds. Clickbank certainly treats its people fairly and is open about their refund policy, but it can bite you.

Franklin comes back and shows you how you can take advantage of the many web hosting offers available.

Hosting affiliates can make up to $150 for just referring a paying customer. This part I really liked-there’s no filler here. It’s just 15 minutes of pure intelligent content that gets straight to the point.

Topics covered in this module:

  • Looking at Niches to Use
  • Find Affiliate Offers
  • Finding New Products
  • Using ClickBank
  • Using Amazon
  • Using Health Market
  • Web Hosting Offers
  • Using Share A Sale
  • CPA Networks

3. Asset Building

This helps you learn how to build a website using simple and easy to follow terms. You will watch a video about choosing a domain name, how to start the site using WordPress, and how to make your site easy to navigate and install the must-have plugins.

Even if you already know about WordPress, I’d still stay with this and watch the video. If anything, you will learn how to set up your site correctly along with web assets.

You will also learn how to create and start your email subscriber list. It shows you how to set up your email landing page to get those signups under your belt and your email list on fire.

Lastly, you will learn about chatbots and social media. It’s pretty new info, so take the time and learn about it. If you can master it, it can enhance your earning potential.

Topics covered in this module:

  • Building Assets Intro
  • Buying a Domain Name
  • Starting Your Website
  • Navigating Your Website
  • Must Have Plugins
  • Emails Assets (Platforms)
  • Creating Landing Pages & Forms
  • Facebook Chat Asset
  • Power of Social Accounts

4. Affiliate Marketing with Clickbank

Clickbank is kind of a tough nut to crack. You get paid by NET30 Payments by default-this means you get paid 30 days after the previous month. This is annoying at first, but once you send them some serious traffic, you will get paid every 2 weeks.

The first few videos in this section show you how to set up your account and file tax forms. Then you learn about the way to choose the right products and services to sell and how to use the platform.

After all that, you will learn how to set up your own site for ClickBank marketing including how to set up your website correctly, mastering the 1:1 article structure, and installing themes and widgets.

You will also learn how to set up funnels and even look at real life examples where Franklin talks you through the setup process for actual marketplace products.

Topics covered in this module:

  • The W8-W9 Form
  • The Main Traffic We Use
  • You Can Sell Anything With The Right Structure
  • ClickBank Facts
  • What We Will Be Building (Examples)
  • Finding Keywords and Using Tool
  • Checking the Top 10
  • Buying Articles (If you don’t want to write them)
  • 1v1 Article Structure
  • Review Articles
  • Adding Article to Site
  • Installing Your Theme
  • Edit Sidebar
  • Edit Site Menus
  • Paid Google Traffic and Landing Page
  • Building A Simple Funnel
  • Module Recap

5. Affiliate Marketing with Amazon

You start big-that is, learning about an affiliation with a 30-million-dollar Amazon affiliate site. Granted we all know this is pretty lofty, but hey, hard work makes dreams come true right?

Franklin teaches you how to analyze the top 10 search results on Google and how you can outrank them. He then tells you how to set up your Amazon affiliate site using the proper article structure, site layout, best keywords, and whether you’d like to create a niche, authority or hybrid site.

You will learn from five real life examples where Franklin talks about the entire process for real products on Amazon.

You can find your own niche and make a killing on it, whether it’s doll clothes, snow blowers or anything in between.

The link building stuff include Web 2.0, blog comments, questions on Quora, PBN Links and also Franklin’s hidden links. You can also learn how to set up analytics and keyword movement tracking.

7. Paid Traffic Training

I learned that paid traffic is all good when you are drop shipping, but when it comes to affiliate marketing, I focus on the free and natural traffic. If this doesn’t work for you, Savage affiliates covers paid traffic with a ton of details.

You will watch 23 videos about paid traffic on Facebook, Google Adwords, and Solo Ads. These are all well and good, but I wished they would have covered some other platforms (LinkedIn for example, would have been cool).

The first ten videos are all about Facebook ads. You will learn about pixel setup and config, funnels, how to create eBook covers, and examples of ads and how to track profitable ad campaigns.

I find that the biggest problem with Facebook Ad pixels is the lack of ability to integrate with Clickbank or Amazon to keep track of sales.

In the Solo Ads part, you will learn how to find sellers and suitable sellers at that. Some people will just take your money and run.

In Adwords, you will learn how to setup everything including tracking, choosing your audience, and keywords to target. Then you will learn how to scale your videos.

  • Paid Advertising Intro
  • Who is Your Buyer?
  • Simple Affiliate Tracking (ClickBank)
  • Facebook Ads 1: Facebook Overview
  • Facebook Ads 2: Facebook Ad
  • Facebook Ads 3: Looking at Funnels

Access to Savage Affiliates Private Facebook Group

Signing up to the Savage Affiliates course will give you instant access to the private Facebook Group. You will gain new knowledge from Franklin’s latest strategies and feedback from other members of the group. As a member of the group, you can ask questions and interact with other like-minded students. It’s a great place to fall back on when you need help.

30 Day Money Back Guarantee

Not many courses will offer their students a money back guarantee. However, if you are unsatisfied with the course, you can request for a full refund, no questions asked.

Is Savage Affiliates a Scam?

This is a training course created by a genuine individual. This is not an overpriced course made by a 17-year-old millionaire from YouTube.

The 30-day money back guarantee is proof this is not a scam.

Is there a discount coupon for Savage Affiliates?

Unfortunately, there are no discounts or coupons for this training course. The price is fixed at $197.

Do not believe the fake discount codes from other sites.

My Final Thoughts on Savage Affiliates Training Course

Overall, I am glad I got this course. First and foremost, I liked that I could buy with ease as there was a 30-day money back guarantee.

I would have liked a discount code, but I guess all the good info that Franklin gives away for free online is more than any discount code.

The content, price, level of support, and features of the course were all top notch. I’d rate them all ten out of ten, would take the course again.

Heck, I get access for life, so I will go back and review it from time to time.

I think this course is just great for anybody who is looking to get started in affiliate marketing.

Yeah, there are plenty of other ways to make money online but think about the passive nature of affiliate marketing.

You work just once, and then the money comes in years afterward if you are lucky. In this respect, shelling out the one-time course fee is a deal.

Plus, I can’t tell you enough how much I respect Franklin Hatchett. I mean, the dude clearly makes enough money to live a life of luxury (um, he has a Maserati) but is kind enough to share how he did it on YouTube and even put it in the form of this great course.

He has many happy followers and satisfied students.

Heck, go take a look at the main website and you can see his whole story- he was once just one of us. Now he’s a success story and we can be too through the right affiliate marketing program for beginners.

I think it’s important to note that this isn’t Franklin’s first rodeo. This guru even wrote a course for those of you that want to do drop shipping above all else-that is, he created the eCom Elites course which is hailed as one of the best courses to learn from in that particular business.

All in all, don’t sleep on this. Take my Savage Affiliates Review to heart and go look up some other satisfied students’ reviews.

Naturally, before I even bought this course, I did the same thing and was pleased to find out that just about everybody who tried this course had something favorable to say about it.

I don’t recall seeing one poor review for this course on how to make money affiliate marketing.

Sure, your results will vary and everybody’s going to have varying degrees of success. But just give it a try, you just might amaze yourself!

Thank you so much for reading my Savage Affiliates review.

I hope this post helped you in making your decision on whether or not to join this affiliate marketing course.
